 Susan Bell has had a lifelong interest in gardening that dates back to the days when her father paid her a penny a weed to help keep the family garden looking good. She started Suzie’s Scapes in 1992.
She completed a two-year course of study at UCLA extension and holds a certificate in horticulture. She designs full gardens and patios, and styles plants in pots and baskets.
“I like to create a garden that becomes an outdoor room - an extension and enhancement of a client’s indoor environment.”
Susan prefers working closely with homeowners so their tastes and preferences are reflected in the world just outside their doors. She loves low-water and low maintenance gardens. Her own yard, which has been featured on tours, includes roses, grasses, fruit trees, orchids and a multitude of flowers and exotic plants but not a trace of a lawn.
